Looking Back, Moving Forward!!

Right out of college I got the job I am working at now. The people are amazing, some of the work that we have produced is so creative and exciting I just LOVE it, and the client relationships I have built have been awesome. I have learned a ton, but it is time to move on now. It is a wierd feeling but it is very exciting as well.

So last Thursday I got two great job offers on the same day and this following Monday I will be starting a NEW JOB!!!!!! Finally!

I was super nervous to tell my bosses on Monday. They have been having a rough year with the business and I just thought it would be one more thing they would have to worry about. So I was really hoping that they would see it as simply a career move and not freak out. They were super gracious and supportive gratefully, but it was my first time quitting a job, so I didn't know how it would go?!

At my brothers graduation on Sunday one of the speakers said that in today's job market, the average person has 10 jobs before they are 40, yikes!!!

So, I am super happy and feel very excited to move on to bigger things and the next step in my career :))))

Life Can Change in an Instant

It has been a crazy week. One of my best friends has had a BAD week. She graduated two Sundays ago and that very night out of the blue her boyfriend just started pushing her around so hard that his college room mate heard and came in to stop him and threatened to call the police. Her boyfriend then proceeded to fight with him and then two other roommates that came to try to help. My friend was very lucky that these guys came to help her, and I am very grateful they did. She stayed with one our friends for a couple days and is home this weekend trying to sort things out. She was so in love with this boy and thinking they would get engaged this summer. He had never done anything like this before, but that is what is so scary. They were not fighting, he was not drunk, it just came out of no where, and it was BAD. He is at least a foot taller than her, and she is so petite, she was bruised up and swollen but I am so glad it wasn't worse.

I absolutely understand that she had all of these amazing plans for their future and had finally met, "the one" so it would be SO hard to deal with the aftermath of breaking up with him, but I feel like it HAS to be done. Surprisingly the opinions on what she should do are split down the middle. I feel like college is pretty fun and carefree compared to real adult life, so with added pressure there is a real good chance that it will only get worse. I love my friend so much and I just want her to be safe. It is so hard because there is really nothing I can do to help her, just be there to talk it through with her from 400 miles away (wish I could be there). She is so beautiful and strong and smart and loving and she deserves all the best and that is all I want for her. But how do I help her get through this? I want to kill this guy for hurting one of the most amazing people I have ever met, and I just hope that everything works out okay for her because she holds such a big piece of my heart.

Extra cash!

Hey everyone,

I was really short on cash so I started taking surveys for some money. You need to get 1000 points to receive a $50 check in the mail. Most surveys are 30 points but I have seem them range from 20 to 100. I usually take them while watching tv or trying to avoid working! Check it out if you are interested! I received my first check and was very skeptical but I cashed it and its easy money.

Where Did Those Muscles Come From...

I am so excited! I have been wanting an eliptical for quite a long time. I loved working out on them in college and need to lose some lbs. for the summer at the lake house :) As I am sure you know, they can be quite pricey...eeek! Luckily my coworkers sold me one for $100 and I am SO excited! I got it all set up on Sunday and have worked out each day since. I think I forgot since college how many muscles it uses and how hot I get when I do it! At least I can watch tv while I am doing it :)

Do a lot of you have exciting season finales this week? I love Chuck which had its finale last night and NCIS is tonight!! Now what should I watch?

Royal Wedding

Hello Everyone! How gorgeous does Kate look in that pic?! My Gosh. Have you all been watching the specials they have on tv chronicling their relationship? I did last weekend and found it pretty interesting. They make her seem like a pretty down to earth real girl who works hard. And it seems that even though he is royal she tells him like it is and it is a pretty mutual loving relationship. I hope so for their sake at least...what do you think?

Planning on watching the wedding?

Happy Easter Peeps :)

When taking a bite into a chocolate bunny, 76% of Americans prefer to bite off the ears first. 5% eat the feet first and 4% eat the tail first.

During the Easter season, Americans buy more than 700 million Peeps - making Peeps the most popular non-chocolate Easter candy.

Adults prefer milk chocolate (65%) over dark chocolate (27%). Not me :)

Each day throughout the year, 5 million marshmallow chicks and bunnies are produced in preparation for Easter. Holy Cow!!

16 billion jelly beans are made specifically for Easter which is enough to fill a plastic egg the size of a 9-story building.

In the old days pretzels were associated with Easter because the twists of the pretzel were thought to resemble arms crossing in prayer.

The exchange of eggs for Easter dates back to a springtime custom older than Easter itself in which eggs were given as a symbol of rebirth in many cultures.

The Easter egg roll on the White House lawn has been a tradition since 1878.

After Halloween, Easter is the biggest candy consuming holiday.

Hope you all have a blessed day with loved ones and take a little time to reflect on what Easter is really about :)

Extreme Couponing

What a dayyyyyy.

So lately I have been reading up on some serious couponing. I already got 4 body washes and all I had to pay was the tax! 21 cents for Nivea Body Wash! Not bad :) With people getting laid off and getting their pay cut any way to save money is good with me. Any one do this and have any great tips?

Can't wait for the weekend :)

Bacon Cologne?

Now I LOVE bacon, but really?

I guess I never realized people are obsessed with bacon. Here is the article:

Bacon is everywhere these days: Denny's has a bacon sundae, baby formula is coming out in bacon flavor, and the makers of Baconnaise are now selling inhalable Bacon-flavored air.

It was really only a matter of time before Bacon Cologne ($36) hit retail. Now you can smell like porcine skin peelings without the daily ritual of taking a straight razor to a hog's back and wrapping your quivering skin in a meat husk. It's available in two unisex varieties: Bacon Classic and Bacon Gold. Bacon Gold adds notes of citrus to the simmering pork drippings, while Bacon Classic is brimming with hints of spicy maple.

Fellas, I'm not sure what kind of ladies you could score with pork cologne, but ladies? Every eligible and ineligible bachelor in the vicinity will be beside himself with desire for you. It's a great story for the grandkids.

Is it Thursday Yet?!

Hi Ladies,
Does it feel like it should be Thursday today to anyone else ;)? Come on week speed up! I have been making a little progress on my eating healthy/trying to exercise deal I have been doing and have lost 6 lbs in the last few weeks (don't you just wish it would all just fall right off?!? haha). But no...progress is progress. Some days I do so great and sometimes you just have to have a couple glasses of red wine. Such is life.

I was watching Real HouseWives of Orange County Reunion this weekend and one of them said she was feeling dizzy and her husband told her to eat something. She replied that it was Summer, and he should know she doesn't eat during the Summer! OMG. I will never be one of thosssseee girls!

What are your biggest downfalls and what do you do to combat against them? I have been jogging in place while I watch tv, which seems to make it less painful to exercise (hubby thinks its amusing). Do you do anything like that?

St Patricks Day!

Alright, I didn't fall off the face of the Earth... I am back!!

St Patricks Day is one of my FAVORITE holidays out there.

I am a part of the St Patricks Association. We raise money every year by selling buttons to put on the parade in St. Paul. We volunteer at the Children's Hospital and visit several nursing homes singing Irish songs and spreading Irish cheer. Each year the Association invites Irish women 21-and-over to become Miss Shamrock Princesses. The princesses spend six weeks together selling buttons and spreading the Irish cheer. From these princesses the Association chooses the year's Miss Shamrock. The princesses and Miss Shamrock spend the remainder of the year visiting area parades and festivals as representatives of the association. We also have a Mr. Pat who is the king figure of the parade, Mr. Pat embodies the spirit of Saint Patrick's Day. Alongside Mr. Pat sits Miss Shamrock. She is chosen from a group secret judges and crowned the week before Saint Patrick's Day. Miss Shamrock is chosen based on her representation of the Association as a Miss Shamrock Princess.
Here we are with our "celebrity" Amelia Santaniello & Frank Vascellaro who are news hosts.

Hope everyone had a great St Paddys Day

I Let It Get WAY Too Far : (

You know how sometimes you just realize one day that you let something like your weight go way to far and then it is a daunting thought to realize how long it will take to get back to what you were? I am embarrassed to say, I allowed myself to get so wrapped up in the stress of my life that I emotional ate, cleaned less and drank more. Well I am done. Why would I let one negative cause even more negatives than it has too?! The panic attacks, sleepless nights and negative behavior needs to be done, so I can be as happy in my free time as possible.

I just wish I didn't let it get this far, because it would be so much easier to lose a little. Kind of a scary place right now. But I just have to keep attaching it day by day and I am sure as I see more progress it will keep my attitude right on track. Summer at the Lake house and some upcoming weddings are coming really fast and I want to be as ready as I can, that's my motivation :) So far I have been walking for every lunch, jogging in place while I watch tv, eating almost no white carbs and last night I added the no drinking...I want to lose this weight asap so that it give me some motivation to keep it up :)

Kel

Lake House- Be Careful Not to Leave Unnattended... ;)

It's been my parent's dream to live on a lake so they have been looking around a lot and we went to look at one yesterday. It was so nice and I could see how relaxing and beautiful it would be to sit and eat, or look out from the sunroom and see that amazing lake view.

Something that also crosses my mind is what a great party house it would be...several bars, fire pit, lake....etc. So while my Mom is dreaming of playing in the sand with her future grandchildren I had other things on my mind ;)...

Mabye we can meet somewhere in the middle, lol.

But seriously, my parents are fun. They love entertaining and having friends over, so it would be perfect for them. It has a porch that my Mom loves, a seperate dining room which my Dad loves. It is so rich and homey. I could just see them there. So we shall see.

I thought it was super nice though and had a lot of things that they have been looking for. Now if I can just get them to let us have their old house and just pay the difference!!! We all have to dream right?!

Advice Please!!??A Year of Weddings and Babies!!

I am so happy for when people have happy news, so I am so excited for all the people having babies and getting married this year. In this economy though I have to unfortunately be a little choosy about what I can go to.

Hopefully this doesn't sound really bad, but for friends I don't see that often or talk to that often I have a hard time justifying flying to Vegas for their bachelorette party or flying to D.C. for a NYE wedding....

With us just basically paying our bills and doing small inexpensive local things, all of the showers, bachelorettes, 8 weddings and 3 known baby showers so far are really starting to make me a little nervous. There are some that I am obviously for sure going to go to, for those friends that are sure to be life long friends. I am sure lots of people have had this before, any advice?

Failing at this whole Writing thing...but still following

Clearly we have been failing at this whole writing thing. I still have been reading a bunch of my favorites blogs, just not writing myself. It is something that I want to start up again.

I have been having a rough year, lots of stress, not a lot of free time and lots of uncertainty, so when I think of things to write I feel like they will come across as complaining and none of you want to here that, and I don't want to do that. I keep reading blogs of people whose wife and new born baby die, or their precious children die of SIDS and what I am going through seems insignificant in comparison. I listen to people complain about the most insignificant things every day and then I go home and read these people's blogs and am in tears for them. While the events in our life seem very stressful and very real in the moment, I am reminded daily from my blog readings to Thank God and to try to look at everything in perspective. So thank you blog friends for that :)

So to break back into it easy I thought this would be fun :

A. Age: 25

B. Bed size: Full, good thing I love to cuddle :)

C. Chore you dislike: Dishes

D. Dogs: None, gone too long during the day...

E. Essential start to your day: Laying for a little and relaxing with Andrew before actually getting up.

O. Overnight hospital stays: None, knock on wood

P. Pet peeves: Bad drivers

Q. Quote from a movie: It is not our abilities who show us who we really are, it is our choices. -Albus Dumbledore

R. Righty or lefty: Righty

S. Siblings: Brother Mike- 22

T. Time you wake up: 6 am

U. Underwear: Boy Shorts

V. Vegetables you don’t like: It might be easier to say what I do.... oopsy. I really like green beens, salad, carrots and tomatoes...

W.What makes you run late: I am always super early, I know freak! Only thing would be traffic

X. X-rays you’ve had: Just teeth
